VPX breaks out from the traditional connector scheme of VMEbus to merge the latest in connector and packaging technology with the latest in bus and serial fabric technology.
VPX combines best-in-class technologies to assure a very long technology cycle similar to that of the original VMEbus solutions. Traditional parallel VMEbus will continue to be supported by VPX through bridging schemes that assure a solid migration pathway.

Pentek's new family of 3U VPX boards for data acquisition, software radio and digital signal processing offer flexible backplane fabric connections supporting maximum data rates of up to 4 GB/sec with Generation 2 PCI Express and 2.5 GB/sec with other protocols. The 3U VPX form factor is compact and extremely well suited for avionics, including UAVs, shipboard and airborne radar and signal intelligence applications.
