Model 4996 VxWorks BSP & Drivers provide software developers with a complete library of hardware initialization, control and application functions. Used in conjunction with Wind River's Tornado II software environment, Model 4996 speeds applications development by providing a high-level API to access all of the board's memory and communication resources and control of its I/O interfaces and VIM modules.

The VxWorks BSP is designed to reduce development time in the initial stages and any time new I/O hardware is added to the system. VIM module drivers, designed to control the hardware features of the I/O interface being used, are built with a consistent style and function-naming convention, thereby allowing immediate familiarity with new VIM hardware as it's added.
eCos Real-Time Embedded Configurable Operating System

eCos is an open source, royalty-free, real-time operating system intended for embedded applications. As an alternative to costly operating systems, eCos based applications can be developed with free GNU open source development tools including the GCC C-language compiler, GDB debugger and Insight GUI interface for GDB. ReadyFlow board support packages for some PowerPC based processor boards include an eCos enabled BSP, a complete distribution of eCos, GNU code development tools, complete documentation and example applications.

The VSIPL (Vector, Signal and Image Processing Library) standard consists of definitions of over 500 scientific and engineering functions. It supports portable, high performance applications programming.

The standard is based upon existing libraries that have evolved and matured over decades of computing. These include functions for linear algebra, signal processing (FFTs, windowing, filtering and convolution routines), image processing, scalar functionality, and vector and matrix view functionalities (scalar, unary, binary and ternary operations).
The Verari Systems Software VSI/Pro is an implementation of VSIPL functions optimized specifically for the PowerPC and AltiVec architectures and is designed to be fully compliant with the emerging VSIPL standard.
As a commercial implementation, VSI/Pro is the immediate step between the VSIPL standard and your own specialized software application. The library is compatible with Wind River’s VxWorks real-time operating system and supports the ANSI C and C++ languages.
