NOVA Integration Solutions (NIS) has entered into a collaborative agreement with Pentek, Inc. The relationship establishes NIS as a product developer and strategic supplier of enclosures in support of Pentek's new "Real-Time Talon Extreme" (RTX) MIL-Grade family of high-performance data recorders. As stated by Chris Tojeira, Recording Systems Director of Pentek, "NOVA was the ideal partner for designing a chassis that would meet all of our customer's MIL-Spec needs." He continues, "Through months of collaboration, we were able to create a unique Pentek product optimized for rugged environments."
The Pentek product known as their "RTX Extreme Rackmount" is based on NIS's Model 4104 enclosure. The application required a dense packaging solution to include four (4) removable disk storage canisters each containing 8 solid state disk drives. The system must record large volumes of data received from a wide variety of high-speed Pentek data acquisition cards. A modular enclosure fully compliant to MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-461E was developed providing an ideal solution required by aircraft and ground mobile applications exposed to EMI, high altitude, extreme temperatures, shock and vibration.
The enclosure features a number of new designs that will become the foundation behind Pentek's family of RTX Mission Critical data recorders. As stated by Mike Martyniak, VP of marketing, "The enclosure was co-engineered with Pentek personnel, and a team was formed bonding the two companies together." As further stated by Mike, "We were pleased to contribute to the products offered by Pentek."
