SOSA's Impact on OpenVPX TechnologyThursday, August 26, 2021 at 12:00 pm U.S. EDT The OpenVPX Systems Specification, which improves the interoperability of COTS 3U and 6U VPX boards through the implementation of predefined system topologies, has been in existence for a decade and has had a major impact on military computing. SOSA (Sensor Open Systems Architecture), as a major new initiative, has driven changes and extended OpenVPX. This 60-minute Webinar from the editors of Aerospace & Defense Technology looks at some of the specification's most significant technical milestones and what advances are being worked on today to ensure its continued implementation in the future. An audience Q&A follows the technical presentation. Speakers: Rodger Hosking, Vice President and Co-Founder, Pentek Rodger H. Hosking is Vice President and co-founder of Pentek, where he is responsible for new product definition, technology development, and strategic alliances. With more than 30 years in the electronics industry, Rodger has authored hundreds of articles about software radio and digital signal processing. He also holds patents in frequency synthesis and spectrum analysis techniques. Prior to his current position, he served as Engineering Manager at Wavetek/Rockland. He holds a BS degree in physics from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and BSEE and MSEE degrees from Columbia University in New York. Duc Huy Tran, Vice President, Global Marketing, Aitech Duc Huy Tran is VP of Global Marketing at Aitech. He has more than two decades of experience in the aerospace, technology, and data analytics industry. Duc draws upon his previous strategic leadership and engineering roles at Collins Aerospace, Bombardier Aerospace, and Thales In-Flight-Entertainment and Internet Connectivity business unit not only to put the issues facing today's military and defense engineers in perspective but also discuss methods for successful market adaptation.
