GateFlow FPGA Factory-Installed IP Cores
Pentek has implemented popular signal processing algorithms as GateFlow Factory-Installed IP Cores. First, these cores are highly-optimized to take maximum advantage of each Xilinx FPGA family, and then uniquely adapted to the architectures of specific Pentek boards to achieve maximum performance and flexibility. These cores exploit highly-parallel processing structures that dramatically outperform programmable RISC and DSP processors.
Pentek offers a wide range of IP cores including FFTs, digital downconverters (DDCs), and interpolation filters.
Two highly-pipelined 1024- and 4096-point FFT engines are available for various VIM modules. Several wideband DDC cores are available for VIM modules and high speed VME A/D converters. Similar to the TI GC1012B in decimation, they offer enhanced speed and performance.
For PMC modules and derivative PCI, cPCI and PCIe products, Pentek offers several IP cores that extend the range of DDCs to handle a wider range of received baseband signals. Some of these cores add interpolation filters to extend the hardware DUC filter to handle lower bandwidths of transmitted baseband signals.
Pentek’s multiband DDC cores handle an extremely wide range of signal bandwidths. For high density DDC systems, Pentek offers a 32-channel multiband DDC and two 256-channel DDCs. These unique cores dramatically outperform ASIC DDCs by taking full adavantage of parallel DSP resources within the FPGA.
