FPGAs are fully characterized: Pentek provides detailed information on FPGA utilization and recommends exactly which FPGA to use based on how much user-generated IP will be installed.

FPGA development support: Free, lifetime customer support is provided. Nearly all of Pentek's boards use the integral FPGA for moving data and signal processing functions. As a result, Pentek is an expert at developing IP and using the Xilinx development and debugging software tool sets. This helps new customers through the process, saving time and money.


Navigator Design Suite NavigatorTM Design Suite takes a new approach to solve an old problem. Most modern FPGA processing applications require development of specialized FPGA IP to run on the hardware, and software to control the FPGA hardware from a host computer.

Navigator FPGA Design Kit NavigatorTM FPGA Design Kit: As FPGAs become larger and IP more complex, the need has never been greater for IP design tools to manage this growing complexity. Pentek's Navigator FPGA Design Kit (FDK), was designed with this exact purpose. Each Navigator FDK provides the complete IP for a specific JadeTM Xilinx UltraScale FPGA Family data acquisition and processing board.


GateFlow FPGA Design Resources GateFlow® is Pentek's flagship collection of FPGA Design Resources that utilize the Xilinx Virtex FPGA parts.

  • GateFlow FPGA Design Kit: Allows the user to easily modify, replace and extend the standard factory installed functions in the FPGA and add user-generated IP. GateFlow is used with Xilinx's ISE and Vivado tools and includes a complete ISE or Vivado project with VHDL source, which significantly shortens the time for end users to develop and install custom IP.

GateXpress GateXpress® improves and simplifies FPGA loading.

  • The Onyx® architecture features GateXpress FPGA-PCIe Configuration Manager for loading and reloading the FPGA. GateXpress copies and stores the configuration information and restores the original configuration information after the FPGA has been reloaded. The host can continue to access the board without the need for a host reset. GateXpress' built-in function set includes PCIe Power-up & Discovery, FPGA Load - JTAG, FLASH, & PCIe & FPGA Dynamic Reconfiguration.
  • Large FPGAs take a long time to configure, so when the system powers up, the FPGA PCIe interface can't be seen by the host. At power up, GateXpress immediately presents a PCIe target for the host computer to discover, effectively giving the FPGA time to load from FLASH. This is especially important for larger FPGAs where the loading times can exceed the PCIe discovery window, typically 100ms on most PCs.

Navigator Board Support Package NavigatorTM Board Support Package enables complete operational control of the hardware and all IP functions in the FPGA. The Board Support Package (BSP) allows software developers to work at a higher level, abstracting many of the details of the hardware through an intuitive API.


Readyflow ReadyFlow® Board Support Packages (BSP) are designed to reduce development time not only during the initial stages, but any time new hardware is added to the system.

  • The customer can install and run the board immediately out-of-the-box without having to write any code. ReadyFlow provides users with a Command Line Interface that allows the hardware to run without having to do any programming and the turn-key Signal Analyzer for data display, validation and monitoring.
  • The ReadyFlow Board Support Package simplifies embedded development with high-level C-callable library functions that are pre-tested and validated. This speeds application development time and shortens project start up time. ReadyFlow allows access at lower levels as required and optimizes the embedding and inspection of custom code. The included functional system example provides an excellent starting place for new project code development.

Programmable logic technology now offers significant advantages for implementing software radio functions such as DDCs (Digital Downconverters). Over the past few years, the functions associated with DDCs have seen a shift from being delivered in ASICs (Application-Specific ICs) to operating as IP (Intellectual Property) in FPGAs.

For many applications, this implementation shift brings advantages that include design flexibility, higher precision processing, higher channel density, lower power, and lower cost per channel. With the advent of each new, higher-performance FPGA family, these benefits continue to increase.
