Control and Imaging

Control systems require tightly-coupled data acquisition and signal processing components with minimum delay from input to output. Maximum system latency requirements can range from a few microseconds to several milliseconds. Imaging systems need fast, direct connections between the digitizer and the signal processor, and often require multiple channels for segmented or distributed sensors. Signal processing tasks must be performed in real time for implementing control loop, beam forming, and matrix operations. Fixed-point processors are often selected for their speed advantage.
